OCTOBER COASTERIDE

Welcome back to ICR Blog.

We start of this blog session with CoasteRides - monthly challenges. Now that we have a new design team on board, all the CoasteRides will be hosted by them.

This month we have DT member Akshma hosting the challenge. She brings us a very festive moodboard.

Akshma says: "There are so many things to interpret from moodboard: Choose Diwali theme or have a bokeh background or use a mandala / rangoli or use the flourish background, anything u can interpret from the moodboard."

This moodboard definitely has many options to choose from and allows for creativity! The "Anything Goes" twist is perfect... make a card or tag or box or mix media art... as long as it is inspired by this moodboard!

The challenge runs from OCTOBER 1st to OCTOBER 28th.  Remember, you need to attach your project via InLinkz at the end of the post on Indian Craft Room in order to enter this challenge.

Check out the beautiful projects created by the Design Team HERE

Of course a challenge has some prize attached to it.

This month the challenge has been graciously sponsored by Bob and Betty. The prize is an Exclusive surprise paper pack... besides the face that its a prize, SURPRISE PAPER PACK makes it even more exciting!!

So what are you waiting for? Get to your craft table, make a project and head to Indian Craft room to enter this fun challenge.

Looking forward to seeing all the creations!

Happy Crafting!

We have officially entered the Christmas season and the New Year will show up in no time. Now, Christmas means loads of baking and cookies and yum treats! Hence our challenge, ICRCPREWIN02, this month is a RECIPE CHALLENGE.

  3. Monthly challenge- 1st november to 28th november 2015.
Now lets look at all the awesome creations by our fabulously talented designers and the techniques they used.
Asha used die cutting and window technique to create her card. It is very easy to create windows with any shape dies or punches.
Bhavana used ink smooshing and water resist with distress inks techniques. Ink smooshing requires ink, water and a piece of acetate/plastic to lift ink from the palette and smoosh it on the card.
Gopi made her card using Joy fold technique and heat embossing. It is a 3 fold card where the front of the card opens like a gate. Hence Joy Fold.
Priya made her card using distressing for background and paper piecing for the ornamentPaper piecing is a fun technique where you can combine different colored papers to complete the look of a stamped/die cut image.
Paru made a cute tag using heat embossing and blending technique. Use pencil colors and a blender pen to create paint like effect. You could also use solvents like Gamsol for this technique.
Pratyusha used heat embossing and paper piecing techniques on her card. Heat embossing is a wonderful technique to create backgrounds that can be created using slow drying inks (like Versamark Inks), embossing powder and a heat tool.
Finally, I used glowing technique on the Christmas trees on my card. This technique uses white gel pen and blending chalks. I also used ink smooshing to create the background.

ICRC27 - Sunday Spotlight

Hello, This is Banu here posting for ICR. Happy Sunday. I hope you are having a good weekend. We have a brand new challenge up on ICR for the Month of March - ICRC27 - One Layer card with Repeated stamping.

Here is the story board and we would love for you to come and play along,

Awesome submission so far. Just wanted to spend some time and shine the spotlight on this gorgeous card from Sathya Kala.. :)

You can view the card on ICR Gallery here and more info on her blog here.

I just loved the subtle masking she did for the leaves and flowers and you can see the stamping off or 2nd generation stamping that she did with the leaf stamp. Very nice.

The flourishes at the top and bottom clearly draws your eyes to the center panel. Very clever and the simple sentiment. Of course the distressed edges...Very nice and very creative.

I am highly impressed and WOW'ed by all the creations so far on ICR. Keep Checking out our blog for other spotlights coming up soon :) (Maybe it will be one of your creations).

We would love for you to Join (if you are not already a member of ICR) and play along with our challenges. There are freebies for you, a chance to be the Guest Designer for next month and of course all the fun and inspiration.

Until next post...Keep creafting...

Here is what she has to say...

" My name is Gopi Patel, and I was born and raised in New Jersey, USA. I've always loved anything and everything crafty…especially paper crafts! I started out with scrapbooking about six years ago, and I joined the stamping and card making world just last year. I love to blog and be able to share my passion of paper crafts, which includes: scrapbooking, card-making, rubber stamping, and other crafty projects, techniques, and ideas. Blog surfing and logging into the ICR both allow me to find new creations and inspirations on a daily basis...it's wonderful!

I am blessed with a wonderful familly and friends, an amazingly talented boyfriend of 10 years (we'll be engaged in 2 months!), and a gorgeous Shetland Sheepdog named Khushi. They are all pros with dealing with my crafty cravings :) I work full time in OIT, I'm a part time dance teacher (Bollywood/Semi-Classical), and I'm also a Demonstrator for Stampin' Up. Thanks for taking the time to get to know me! Feel free to ask me questions, and your comments are always welcomed!

And below are the inspirations from the DT.... on ICR!

Sudha has done dry embossing here...... and the sentiment is so apt with the friendshop day around... I love that amazing inspiration from her! It is exciting to see what she inspires us with!

And this is from me... :p Was feeling terribly ill during the course of this card..... Pain & exhaustion killed me... Yet managed to put something together as an inspiration.....

I have dry embossed on vellum & ran some bic markers on the emboss a lil, as I did not wanna deviate from the simplicity of the card....

That's from Mona..She has done a fab job with so many different fonts in one sentiment... That's an amazing one Mona.. Thank You!!!

That's the FUN filled inspiration from dear Bhavana....... I LOVE the Sentiment, and she has used embossed patter papers... which flaunts the playful mood & influences us with it too....

And here is the inspiration from Priya...... She has used 2 different embossed papers and combined different stickers to make a single sentiment with 3 different fonts.... Used puffy heart stickers to add cherry on the top.. ;)

Now ICR is excited to check on our crafters as to what techniques & what fonts you guys would play with, this FRIENDSHIP DAY!!!

Just unleash your creativity & show the world what uniqueness you can come up with @ ICRC20!!!
